» AmyKK727 - what's the worst rejection you ever got?

I think mine's a toss-up; I got one that said "we don't print filler," which was sort of insulting. Then another was a submission I had to wait 6 months to hear back on, and they just said "rejected."

You do need to have thick skin. I've gotten my share of rejections and they have usually been the standard form letter. I did have one editor rip me to shreds and I thought about quitting writing. Instead I just took the points from the editor and learned from them. Hopefully it has made me better.

I got one that was very complimentary, but the entire rejection was full of misspellings, grammatical errors and typos. It was only two sentences long, for crying out loud. How hard would it have been to just scan over that one extra time before sending it?
