A website to encourage Christian writers

Faithwriters.com is a great website for both Christians and writers. Take a look at the many things the site has to offer.

There are a lot of great websites out there for writers. The internet is filled with people that want to share their experiences with others. One website that I have found helpful in my walk as a writer is FaithWriters.com.

The name may give it away, but it’s a site for writers that are Christian. FaithWriters.com helps develop the writer's spiritual life as well as their writing. The site has places to showcase writing, get critiques, and learn from others. Everything has a Christian base, so it’s all done with the purpose of building up and edifying.

A Community to Challenge and Encourage

FaithWriters.com is a great community that encourages and teaches. The forum is extremely active with writers of all levels. There are discussions about theology, the latest best seller, or people asking questions involving their writing. Everyone there wants to help each other succeed. Time spent there is well spent as it will help you learn and grow, and it’s always fun.

If someone is working on a piece and they want to see what others think, it can be posted at the Critique Circle. They have it set up so that the comments aren’t available for others to see. This helps to give writers a sense of security. Writers won’t have to feel embarrassed if their writing isn’t as strong as others, but they will have the chance to grow and be guided by experienced writers.

A Place for Writers to Showcase Their Writing

Building a name and showing their work is important for the aspiring writer. FaithWriters.com has many outlets for this. The Free Reprints section is an excellent tool to show others what they have.

Writers submit anything they would want people to use. There are many topics such as Dating, Bible Studies, and Leadership. They don’t get paid for this, but they do get their name out there.

FaithWriters.com has a weekly writing challenge that helps writers to develop their craft. Each Thursday a topic will be posted in the Challenge area. People can write whatever strikes them whether it is a story, poem, or anything else that they see fit. The guidelines are pretty simple. It has to be between 150 and 700 words and somehow pertain to the topic.

There are different levels depending on experience, so the competition is fair. All the pieces are judged by other FaithWriters, all of them past winners. The winners can get first, second, or third place and also highly commended. Then the judges pick the cream of the crop as the Editors Choice, that is then put into a book each quarter. To be there is truly an honor.

A Place To Learn and Grow

FaithWriters.com has many ways to help people grow as writers. They have a Writer’s Resource section that has many tools that will further people's writing journey. There is a list of Christian book publishers and magazine publishers. They have a huge list of upcoming conferences, plus much more.

If someone has a product they want to sell, or if there is one someone is looking to buy, FaithWriters.com has the Market Place. People can browse for anything from books to clothing. For a small fee, an ad can be placed to promote aproduct.

There is a section of the site people have to pay for, but the free section has much to offer. Writers can take a look around and see if they want to take the plunge and sow their seeds here, which is not a bad idea. Everything takes money and this site is no different, so $10 a month really does help further the cause of FaithWriters.com.

While this is a site geared towards writers, everything is done with a Christian worldview. It is not denomination specific, so anyone from Catholics to Evangelicals will feel at home. To a writer, FaithWriters.com is a safe haven in a crazy world. To a Christian, FaithWriters.com is a home among their brothers and sisters that have your passion for writing.
